A new place 01.30.19
The sweetest taste is a new place. The warmth of excitement when unfamiliar air crests your lips and enters your lungs. It’s never the same taste for anyone and never the same taste for you when done over. The taste is unfiltered and unknown, like a smell that brings you back to a room from your childhood for reasons beyond your capacity. It’s familiar and still completely foreign all wrapped into one. Every new experience, every bad experience, every good opportunity and every stagnant routine begins somewhere in this unknown and overly sweet taste. For some of us it is candy in our mouth, and for others it’s not sweet but bitter and sickening. Every new place is lemon and honey, it’s coffee and toast and it’s always my favorite flavor.
